Yew Court Gate Piers                                     TA 011 905

Picture
The circular gate piers were probably erected in 1742       when Yew Court was built for Captain Ians on what is   thought to have been an ecclesiastical site.

The piers are about six feet in diameter and have glazed   doors and oval windows.

They are shown in two paintings by John Atkinson   Grimshaw in 1877.
