Steeton Tower, also known as Victoria Tower and Jubilee Tower, was started in 1897 and completed in 1901. It was built for textile manufacturer, Henry Issac Butterfield, who had rebuilt Cliffe Hall as Cliffe Castle.
The inscription on the tower reads:

DIAMOND JUBILEE. 1897
