Dr Nicholas Gold built a 18 feet high cone at the side of the road. After careers as a Coldstream Guardsman and a G.P., Dr Gold now creates landscape sculptures using local materials. Being a Yorkshireman, he is inspired by drystone walls and also by military fortifications.
