Disce bene vivere et mori A THOMAS BRANSOM hoc SOLARIUM, relictum est Gratitudnis in memoria pro doctri-na accepta apud Woden Croft Lodge ab AD 1807 utque 1815
(Learn to live and die well. This sundial was given by Thomas Branson in grateful memory of the teaching received at Woden Croft Lodge from 1807 to 1815)
