The Classical-styled Constable Mausoleum was designed by Thomas Atkinson of York for Sir Edward Constable, of Burton Constable Hall. The temple is 30 feet in diameter with a domed roof. It cost £10,000, took eight years to build and was completed in 1802, after the death of Atkinson by his son.
