The Dry Bridge over the road at Hackness was constructed in the late 18th century to connect two parts of the gardens at Hackness Hall.

Icehouse             ​                                                        SE 970 906

Hackness Hall icehouse is near the Dry Bridge and was built in the early 19th century. The conical roof is constructed with stone slabs and bricks.

The orangery in the walled garden at Hackness was designed by John Carr for Sir Richard Van den Bempde-Johnstone in about 1800.

Hackness Hall Gateway                                     SE 972 905

The gate piers at the entrance to Hackness Hall were erected in about 1810. They are surmounted with eagle finials. The 20th century cast-iron gates are decorated with the winged spur crest of the Johnstone family.

The structure of the pinfold at Hackness is in good condition but seems to be a place to throw rubbish.
