About 100 yards north east of Gisburn Bridge, on the banks of the River Ribble, is a sham castle called Dog Kennels. It was probably built in the late 18th century.

The pair of lodges at the southern entrance to Gisburne Park were designed by the owner, Lord Ribblesdale, in about 1800. The Gothick lodges are two storeys high but appear to be a single storey.
