The Royal Arch
The original arch commemorated the visit of Queen Victory and Prince Albert in 1844 and was made of wood. It was replaced in about 1850 by one a 80 feet wide stone structure that cost nearly £3,000 and designed by John Thomas Rochead, the designer of the Wallace Monument. It was demolished in 1964 when the Tay Road Bridge was constructed.

The Lady's Tower
The Lady's Tower was built for Lady Janet Ansstruther so that she could change there when taking her daily swim. A servant would ring a bell to warn locals to stay away when she was bathing. A small grotto is on the beach below the tower.
William Adam worked at Elie House in the 1740s and may have been the designer of the tower.
