The message at the back of the postcard reads:
Extraordinary freak of nature, tree growing out of split rock, the Wishing Stone in one of the most lovely spots in Arncliffe Woods situated between Glaisdale & Egton Bridge about 7 miles from Whitby. They are on the top of a cliff overlooking the river Esk.
Visited on Monday Aug. 25th 1913 with Cheshunt people, we went to Glaisdale by train & walked to Egton Bridge, where we had tea & took the train back.
