The eaves extend to such proportions as to give the 19th century farmhouse the appearance of an Alpine hut. Perhaps the Earl of Ailesbury used it as a shooting lodge.

This ancient well was known as Diana's Well and also Castaway Well. The spring emerges from a grotesque head, giving it the name Slobbering (or Slavering) Sal.
A rough stone shelter in the form of a grotto has a large stone slab for a table. The arched entrance has a stone inscribed:
