Henry Jenkin's Grave                                          SE 252 991

The churchyard memorial is to England's longest living person, Henry Jenkins. On the east side is the inscription:

'This monument was Erected by CONTRIBUTION In ye year 1743 to the memory of HENRY JENKINS'

He was born and lived at Ellerton-on-Swale and died in 1670, aged 169, allegedly.
